Mia Wasikowska
Mia Wasikowska is an actress, best know in her roles as Alice in Alice in Wonderland (2010) and as Joni, a teenager in the movie The Kids are Alright. Time put her on the list for a few reasons. The first is she is very, very talented. She was born is Australia but can pull of an english and an american accent without fault. The second reason is her attitude. She is humble and shy, but very observant. They didn't say much else, almost vague in the article. Though I believe she is smart and talented I don't really understand why she is on the list. There are so many other talented people out there that deserved to be on the list and I don't believe that she is one of them. I also think that Time did a crappy job of making me think other wise.
Sue Savage-Rumbaugh
Sue Savage-Rumbaugh is a scientist working to break the wall between man and ape. She is teaching Bonobos (an ape closely related to us) how to communicate. Using pictures and signs the apes are learning to communicate with humans. She is also trying to advocate the conservation for these animals and has a recreated habitat called The Great Ape Trust. I think she has a rightful place on that list for many reasons. Not only is she an advocate of the Bonobos she is also teaching them to communicate, which may someday lead to a understanding of bonds between man and ape.
